La Traviata tells the poignant story of Violetta Valéry, a beautiful courtesan in 19th-century Paris who has everything—except love. When she meets Alfredo Germont, a young man from a respectable family, they fall deeply in love and begin a new life together in the countryside.
However, their happiness is short-lived when Giorgio Germont, Alfredo's father, visits Violetta. He convinces her that her relationship with Alfredo is ruining his daughter's engagement and the family's reputation. Heartbroken, Violetta agrees to leave Alfredo, returning to her former life without explanation.
Alfredo, believing Violetta has betrayed him, publicly shames her at a party. By the time he learns the truth about her sacrifice, it may be too late. La Traviata is one of Verdi's most beloved operas, featuring unforgettable arias including "Sempre libera" and "Brindisi."
